This year I am presenting a paper at the Political Studies Association conference on developing a 'topography' (i.e. a kind of theoretical map) of power in political parties. A copy of the advance written paper can be found here.
Between 2005 and 2012, I was working my way through the long haul that is a part-time PhD, researching the different dimensions of power's exercise in political parties. I began with Weber and Foucault and this blog catalogues some of my early thoughts and frustrations (and distractions) in fairly raw form. I did eventually work through all this and the blog's tailing off coincides with my developing a clear sense of direction and therefore more focused approach to work.
